We Walked for Life! | 2020

Happy smiling woman with curly hair lounging on couch.

Thank you to all who participated in the Walk For LIFE on Saturday, May 9, 2020. It was a unique year.

Normally the Walk For Life is a two-mile, fun, family-friendly celebration of LIFE that is held Saturday of Mother’s Day weekend. This year, due to COVID, we had to host a virtual Walk For Life. We wanted all of our participants to remain safe while still helping to serve women in need and save babies.

Like with previous years, the money raised during this year’s event will impact thousands of women, families, and teens in our community and beyond. Your support will help

  • Women who are facing an unplanned pregnancy

  • Single moms and children who need a hand up and resources for their future

  • Teens who will learn the impact of their choices have on their future

  • Women and men whose hearts need mending from a past abortion

Here’s the Difference You Made | Kia’s Story

Kia stared at the positive results on her home pregnancy test. There were about to be three kinds of seeds planted in her life:

  • Seeds of doubt

  • Seeds of life

  • Seeds of hope

Here she was, a 40-year-old single mom of a 9-year-old son who was awaiting the trial of her abusive ex-boyfriend. How could this be? Kia’s thoughts moved to every question she had about her future. DOUBT was planted in the darkness of the moment, trying to take root in her mind.

She scheduled an appointment with Planned Parenthood, and the positive test confirmed that LIFE was indeed planted inside of her womb. The seeds of DOUBT and LIFE were at war within her as she made an appointment to have an abortion.

She sought counsel, but it left her with more questions than answers.

Kia decided to do more research, which led her to A Woman’s Place Medical Clinic where she met our Clinic Manager and Nurse Manager. They showed her compassion, spoke truth over her life, and gave her a free sonogram. Kia saw her son for the first time. At that moment, HOPE sprung inside her and was planted firmly over the seeds of DOUBT.

Although the decision was not made lightly, Kia canceled her abortion appointment and chose life for her baby boy. She walked each step of the way with her new confidants at A Woman’s Place Medical Clinic, who helped cultivate the seeds of HOPE and LIFE. Praise the Lord!

Kia told her story in her own words in a recent blog post:
